My Flying Lesson

Late August 1996, I was in a 2 seated Citabria (that is airbatic spelled backward) single engine plane with a 19 year old pilot, Captain Jeffery Joseph Bell. Eh... am I brave

? So I sat behind him, up in the air, he suggested to remove the side door so fresh air can come in. I was worried. At 3000 feet above the ground, Captain let me steer with the stick that is in front of me, the plane banked to the right 45 degrees in a matter of seconds. My hands started to sweat. Captain Bell then decided to turn off the plane engine so to show me how his plane can fly on its own. Oh help!!........Is this a bad dream? Ha ha, we did end up glide down safely in a wheat field. What a relief !!!!!!

Dad & mom, this is an one time experience I will never forget; for good or for bad! I need a big hug....I am so scared.
